Our Centres

Our community centres located at Clarence Park, Fullarton and Unley are easily accessible and friendly, each offering a huge array of activities for individuals, families, children and young people, older persons and cultural groups. Each Centre has its own unique history and character, shaped in part by the demographics of its neighbouring residents and the identified needs and interests of their local community.

Clarence Park Community Centre

At the Clarence Park Community Centre we get back to basics and care for children and our environment. We're powered by solar energy and rainwater and offer fresh, seasonal and organic food at our markets and food cooperatives. We dance to world music and awaken the mysteries within.
 

School Holiday Program

We provide a range of recreational workshops for children aged 5-12 years during the April, July and October school holidays.

Program brochures are released prior to each holiday break and will be available from this website, via email, or collection from the centre.

Adelaide Town Hall Tour
“Out and About” new program for Seniors.
Tuesday 30 August, 11.30am-2.45pm

Cost: Your coffee and cake
Discover fascinating facts about the architecture and history of the Adelaide Town Hall. Join a passionate and knowledgeable tour guide (Glenn Woodward) on a heritage and history based journey around one of Adelaide’s most stoic buildings. Discuss your discoveries with other members of the group over coffee and cake following the tour.

Greek Island Cooking Classes

Wednesday 21 September, 12noon - 2.30pm 
In these demonstration cooking classes you’ll learn to make authentic and delicious dishes unique to Greek culture, followed by an enjoyable shared lunch.

Uke for Beginners

Saturday, 17 September, 1 - 3pm
Unlock you inner musician! Learn to play essential chords and basic strums on the ukulele.  Discover the history of the instrument, play and sing songs.  BYO ukulele if possible. Please check availability of ukuleles on booking.

Moving Madness
Wednesdays during school term, 9.30 – 11am
A gym, movement and music activities program for under 5 year olds.
Have fun with your child as they discover new skills in this exciting preschool program designed to develop your child’s physical and social skills.
Costs: $10 casual.
$60 per term or $80 per term for 2 children.
$50 per term – introduce a friend.

At Fullarton Park Community Centre we draw, paint and play. We make music and sing songs and have fairies in our flower garden where children gather to hear stories. We also sew quilts over coffee and play cards with our friends. We salute the sun and have positive energy. Our exhibition space, Hughes Gallery, is a community gem.

Youth Drop In Support Service with Kiara

Free service for youth aged 10-18 years who would benefit from informal and confidential help with any issues.
Run by a trainee psychologist in conjunction with a fully qualified and experienced psychologist.

Goodwood Toy Library

Goodwood Toy Library offers a wide range of toys, games, puzzles, books, large equipment and DVDs for children of all ages and stages of development. 

Time: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10.30am-12.30pm. Thursday 2.30-4.30pm.
Cost: $45 per financial year, $25 per school term, concession rates available.

New Strength for Life Class 

Mondays 8.30 – 9.30am
$7.00 per lesson. The Strength for Life Program offers quality strength training programs to people over the age of 50. 
Participants receive a tailored exercise program designed to increase muscle strength and improve balance. Classes are also a great way to  have fun and meet new people at the same time.  Phone 8372 5128 for more information.
 

Board Games & More

Tuesdays 1-3pm
Looking for something to do on a Tuesday afternoon? Join us over at the Unley Community Centre for a fun and friendly game or two of scrabble, backgammon or ramekin. Or perhaps you are more interested in playing chess or billiards? Variety of games on offer. The Centre is currently looking for more people to join our games afternoon program running weekly. Enjoy tea/coffee and homemade biscuits and cakes as part of the break for afternoon tea.

Meet Me Monday

2nd and 4th Monday of each Month, 10am – 2pm
Free social support program for Unley residents with early stage Dementia or memory loss, and their Carers. Participants enjoy a fun and friendly day with a variety of activities including tasty lunches cooked onsite, movies, games, bus trips, exercise and art.
Meet Me Monday offers a great opportunity to relax while developing friendships and support networks within your local community.
 

Craft Corner

2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month, 12.30 3pm
Each month there is different activity planned or you may wish to bring your own unfinished craft to complete. Some lessons may incur a small fee.

  • Hire Unley Town Hall

    Unley Town Hall seats up to 100 people and can accommodate 200 people if standing. It has a fully-equipped kitchen and is suitable for weddings, parties and corporate events.

    Facilities include:
    • 100 plastic chairs
    • 24 folding tables
    • 10 circular bar tables
     
    Full caterers kitchen includes:
    • Large fridges and freezer
    • Microwave
    • Deep fryers

  • Hire Clarence Park Community Centre

    The Clarence Park Community Centre has a number of areas available with rooms catering for 40 to 150 people. It is suitable as a venue for community groups and private functions.

    The Clarence Park Community Centre is available for hire on a regular or casual basis. Inspections are welcome.

    Facilities include:

    • Two meeting rooms with conference facilities for 20-40 people
    • A main hall with stage, dance floor, sound system and kitchen for 150 people
    • A children's hall and garden (used as a licensed childcare centre) for informal playgroups and children's parties
