The Fern Avenue Community Garden

The Fern Avenue Community Garden is where residents grow fruit and vegetables. The Garden has an organic focus and gardeners are asked to refrain from using chemical pesticides or fertilisers

Fern Avenue Front GateThe Garden's organic ethos extends to having a composting toilet which was created by volunteers and operates along similar principles to home compost bins and requires no water for flushing. It also has a straw bale room where residents gather to learn more about organic gardening.

All residents are eligible to apply for a plot however as they are popular there may be
a waiting period.

The garden is open to visitors on Thursdays between 9am and 11am on volunteer mornings and during school term times. Working bees are held on the second Saturday or Sunday of the month. The Garden closes if the temperature is over 35 degrees.

The facility is available for use for small functions or meetings during daylight hours.
