Freedom of Information
The Freedom of Information Act 1991 gives individuals the right of access to documents (subject to certain restrictions) within the Council's possession. It also provides for amendment, in defined circumstances, of documents.
The Act gives access to documents in the possession of Governments only and does not give the right of access to documents owned by the private sector.
