Solar Hot Water

Rebates of between $500 and $1000 are available for the installation of solar hot water systems from both the State and Federal Governments.

There is also a Federal Government Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) system through which residents may receive an additional payment for the installation of solar hot water systems and other renewable energy systems.

Solar Panels

There is a Federal Government Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) system through which residents may receive payment for the installation of solar panels (photovoltaic systems) and other renewable energy systems. This has replaced the Federal Government rebate system for solar panels.

Owners of a solar system should also be eligible for a feed in-tariff with their electricity supplier which results in them receiving a higher payment for electricity generated than that being purchased from the electricity supplier.
