Community Consultations
HAVE YOUR SAY

We recognise that effective community participation in decision making leads to increased public confidence in the Council, and promotes continuing partnerships with local communities.
The City of Unley's Community Consultation Policy
Program of community consultations (upcoming, in progress and completed)
When does the Council consult?
For some issues there are statutory requirements for when and how the Council must consult (for example, the passing of by-laws, the basis of rating). For others, the Council considers whether an issue warrants community consultation based on its potential impact on individuals or groups that live, work, play or do business in Unley.
How does the Council consult with the community?
The Council's current policy provides flexibility for the Council to use a consultation approach appropriate to the issue. Methods commonly used to consult with the community include:
- Public meetings
- Focus groups
- Seminars and workshops
- Individual meetings
- Distribution of publications with submission forms
- On-line submission forms
- Mail / telephone surveys
- Hearing of verbal submissions
- Community on-line panel - Click here for further information
- Advisory groups
