Friends of the Unley Libraries
The Friends of the Unley Libraries was formed in 1989. During their sixteen years of service, the Friends have raised over $100,000 through book sales, raffles and trading tables which has been used to purchase resources for the Unley Libraries including
- software to enable people with a disability to use a computer
- recordings of books being read aloud for the Homebound service a
- subtitled videos and language kits for new English speakers
The Friends also joined with the City of Unley to introduce the Internet to the Unley Library.
Friends enjoy privileges that include:
- New title listings
- A regular newsletter
- Reduced purchase price on library book bags
- Discounts on using fax facilities
- Eligibility to use a number of incentive schemes with local businesses such as Angus and Robertson and Imagine If.
To become a Friend complete a form at the Civic Centre Library or Goodwood Library.
