Work has commenced on installing four new light towers at Unley Oval, replacing the existing light towers and roof fixtures.
This project was driven by the Sturt Football Club, and is share-funded by the AFL, Sturt and Unley Council.
This week, the first stage of work involves digging trenches in preparation for the new towers. The new towers will be smaller in height than originally planned, reducing the current amount of light overspill.
Whilst minor restrictions will apply around the area of current works, the oval and its surrounds will remain open to the public.
Council expects work to be completed by the end of March or early April 2017.
