Join a fascinating talk telling the story of two of childhood's most enduring playthings.

Dolls have existed since the dawn of human history and have played an important role in many societies and cultures, continuing into the present day. Their popularity is only rivalled by the teddy bear, introduced in the early last century. Although materials and manufacture have changed over centuries, the underlying con-cept has not. On display will be nineteenth and twentieth century dolls, bears and playthings of the period. Bring a doll and we’ll attempt to identify and give an estimated valuation.
