Unley Libraries Home Service

Unley Libraries offers a delivery option to City of Unley residents who are unable to access the Libraries for various reasons. The deliveries are free and available on a four weekly and ongoing basis. Unley Libraries Home Service is supported by a large team of volunteers who can select and deliver library items to your door.

Who can we deliver to?

  • Any City of Unley residents who are housebound, including carers, parents of young children, frail aged and persons with disabilities.
  • Residents unable to access any of our branches regularly due to temporary or permanent health problems or access difficulties.
  • Residents able to access the Libraries, but unable to transport their selected library resources home.
  • Permanent residents of nursing homes within the City of Unley. Respite residents can also receive deliveries if they hold a current library card.
  • Staff of aged care and disability establishments can request items for their clients. These staff are responsible for the care and return of items borrowed.

What can I borrow?

Unley Libraries offers access to all our collections, our eLibrary, plus the entirety of the South Australian Public Library Network. This includes books, DVDs, CDs, magazines and specialist collections for those residents needing larger print or audiobooks.

You are able to select items from home via our online catalogue, request through our staff over the phone, or give us your reading preferences and our volunteers can select items for you. Items are delivered to you on a four weekly basis.

How do I join?

You can fill in our application form online or contact Unley Libraries Home Service on 8372 5100 and speak to one of our Home Service Co-ordinators.
