Public access to Council and Committee meetings and documents is one of the main ways you can gain information about the business of the City of Unley and its Committees.

The Code of Practice for Access to Council and Committee Meetings and Documents captures the principles of open, transparent, and informed decision-making of Council meetings or those of Council Committees. The Code encourages community participation at these meetings and access to such meeting documents.

This Code includes information on:

  • Access to the agenda for meetings.
  • Public access to meetings.
  • Process to exclude the public from meetings.
  • Matters for which the Council or Committee can order that the public be excluded.
  • How Council will approach the use of the confidentiality provisions of the Local Government Act.
  • Public access to documents, including minutes.
  • Accountability and reporting to the community and the availability of the Code.
  • Grievances about the use of the Code by Council.

Please view the revised Code of Practice, or read a summary of the Code amendments, and complete the short survey at Your Say Unley.

Consultation closes 5pm, Tuesday 4 June 2024.
