We’re excited to welcome you to the City of Unley during the Royal Adelaide Show and hope you’re planning to enjoy the upcoming events and attractions.

The Royal Adelaide Show brings lots of activity to our residential areas and additional support for our businesses. Search the official Royal Adelaide Show web page to plan your trip and for details of all events.

The extra people and traffic movement during this period places greater pressure on car parking spaces and can present a real safety risk to visitors and residents. To provide a safe environment for show-goers and ensure parking is available for residents, visitors and patrons of local businesses, Council has installed event parking controls in nearby streets. Please be aware of the following event parking restrictions that will be in place during the Show.

Show Family Pass Competition on now

This year, the City of Unley has four family passes to give away. They will admit four people, either 2 adults and 2 children under 15, or 1 adult with 3 children, and are valued at between at around $80. All you need to do is fill out this form with your details, and tell us what you most love about the Show. The competition runs until 2pm on Friday 1 September and four individual winners will be drawn at random and notified by return email.

Street Parking & Parking Controls

Event Parking controls are implemented during the Show period from Saturday 2 September to Sunday 10 September inclusive. This is done to provide a safe environment for Show-goers and ensure parking is available for residents, visitors, and patrons of local businesses.  If you choose to drive, be sure to check local signage before leaving your vehicle. To find out more about the Royal Adelaide Show Event Parking controls please visit Council’s web page

Every effort is made to address traffic and parking concerns to minimise inconvenience. Public safety is always our top priority. The combination of increased traffic and pedestrians in one location, especially young families, presents a real safety risk.

Please also be mindful of existing resident permit zones or any other restrictive parking zones and note how long you can stay in one space.

Parklands car parking

The car parking areas in the Adelaide Parklands are the primary location for parking for the Show and are provided by the City of Adelaide. Access is dependent on weather and the condition of the parking surface. Visit the Royal Adelaide Show website to check for any changes to availability before you leave home.

Public Transport

Consider leaving your car at home – there are so many great public transport options available including bus, tram and train. Plan your trip using the Adelaide Metro website.  There are over 30 bus, train and tram stops within walking distance of the Adelaide Showgrounds, including a dedicated bus interchange and railway station. Search the Show's travel planner web page for details on how best to get there.

E-Scooters

You can now also access the Royal Adelaide show using a Neuron or Beam e-scooter. A designated e-scooter parking location will be provided at the Goodwood Road entrance (Ridley Memorial Gates). The footpaths abutting the Showgrounds on Rose Terrace, Goodwood Road and Leader Street will become temporary No Parking Zones for the duration of the Show to ensure safe pedestrian access is maintained at all times. Please ride and park safely and watch for pedestrians.
