Watch our interview with local artist Maggie Cecchin, winner of the South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival City of Unley Active Ageing Award 2019.

This award, which is open to any South Australian artist over 60 years of age participating in SALA, aligns with the City of Unley’s Active Ageing Strategy. It also highlights the role the SALA Festival plays in our cultural calendar and the large number of artists involved.

Apart from the $2000 prize, the award gives access to the Hughes Gallery at the Fullarton Park Community Centre for an exhibition. SALA is a little different this year, with exhibitions in an online format and venues following COVID-safe guidelines. Due to current restrictions, Maggie was unable to show her works this year and they will now be displayed in 2021.
