Planning an Event

Our City is recognised for its vibrant community spirit, quality lifestyle choices, diversity, business strength and innovative leadership.
Many of our residents are energetic participants in social and recreational activities and enjoy being active and involved in our community.
Attraction and facilitation of community events are primary goals for the City of Unley, with place making and cultural and artistic diversity being strategic objectives within our Community Plan 2033 and our 4 Year Plan.
Council also has a Community Event Sponsorship Program that provides financial support for events and festivals. As such, we encourage and support community groups to hold their own events within the City, helping to grow the diverse range of events on offer to our residents and visitors.

Families can relax and enjoy free craft, entertainment in a cool shady spot away from the hustle of the street.
In partnership with the Australian Migrant Resource Centre, the Gala will feature a World Music Stage with entertainment from a diverse line-up of international performers hailing everywhere from Africa and Greece to Pakistan, Lebanon and China.
The City of Unley is also teaming up with South Australian Youth Arts (SAYarts) to present a ‘teen takeover’ from 6pm to 7pm with young people featuring on all four stages – from slam poetry and a young fashion designer showcasing her wares to performances from local bands Malibu Drive and The Empty Threats.
