Unley News

Council response to bushfires and how we all can help

Elected Members and Staff of the City of Unley are deeply saddened by the loss and damage caused by bushfires across our state and the nation, and we send our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by these devastating bushfires.

We’ve been profoundly moved by the care and compassion of our community and the efforts being made to assist those in need. There are many ways people can contribute, and to assist you we have compiled a list of South Australian fundraising bodies leading the recovery process in affected areas. Check our website for links to these organisations and initiatives.

Financial donations are the most helpful way that the public can contribute to disaster-affected communities, and we encourage our community to assist where they can by donating or attending local fundraising events.

Additionally, if you can donate your time and skills you can connect with people in need through the WeDo App.

We have partnered with Rotary Hyde Park, who will be collecting donations at our Unley Gourmet Gala event on Wednesday 22 January – find them at the Rotary BBQ opposite Thomas Street.

Our sincere thanks to our community for the valuable contributions of time, goods and money that you have already made to this cause.
