Unley News

To all our library users – COVID-19 update - current 1pm March 19

The City of Unley is committed to the safety and peace of mind of both our community and staff in these unprecedented times. We are actively monitoring and following advice from the Australian Federal and South Australian governments on the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and regularly reviewing business continuity and service delivery requirements.

In light of the above we have decided that all programming for children, youth and adults is postponed until further notice.

This means all Library-coordinated community interest groups (Scrabble, Yarnistas, book clubs, Shut Up & Write) which normally meet in the Library are also postponed until further notice.

We have also decided that access to Public PCs and quiet areas (Unley Library’s ‘Attic’ room and the quiet study room at Goodwood Library) will be closed from Thursday 19 March 2020.

Our Libraries and general reading rooms will remain open for borrowing of materials and other services we provide. Our Toy Library is also open, and we have put in place extra cleaning regimens as a precaution.

We have made the decision to modify programs, services and activities in our Libraries and Community Centres to ensure we are not compromising our community’s health.

We are acting on the best professional advice from government authorities and official bodies, but trust you understand that the situation can change at short notice.

We will communicate any further changes to our activities and services as they occur and when details become available.
