A five-week program for adults in Unley over 65+ with students at Glenunga International High School.

If you were a fan of the ABC’s hit TV series Old People’s Home for Teenagers, then the City of Unley’s upcoming intergenerational program ‘GRANDFriends’ could be for you.

The successful ABC series showed how two quite different age groups have much more in common than they realise. Intergenerational programs have a positive influence on people’s mental and physical health and enrich the quality of personal connections and relationships.

The first of Unley’s own intergenerational program ‘GRANDFriends’ were successfully held in Sept-Nov 2023 and June-July 2024.

The next GRANDFriends started on Friday 1 November 2024 and ran for five consecutive sessions from 1/11 - 29/11. Each session centred around a different activity such as quality conversation, lawn bowls, gardening, and games.

The focus of the program is on having fun, learning new skills, and building friendships.
