Wayville Reserve including the playspace will be upgraded as part of Council's program to revitalise our community open spaces. We are pleased to share the concept design for the whole reserve but in anticipation of the Brown Hill – Keswick Creek upgrade work, the project has been separated into stages. The scope of stage 1 will focus on the play area with the rest of the park upgrade to follow.
Sightlines and the entrances into the park will be improved as will the Northern and Southern entries with custom park signage to replace the fencing to welcome visitors into the park. The play space will have a wider range of new play equipment for a range of ages and types of play with new softfall. New seating will be positioned to make use of shade trees for pleasant places to relax, have lunch or socialise. Open areas of lawn will remain for more active uses framed by garden beds. Planting near the creek will have wetland plants for increased wildlife habitat and biodiversity. It will also help to filter stormwater runoff into the creek. The existing path network will be repaved for improved accessibility.
Additional feedback and queries are welcome through our contact details and will be considered as part of the final design development with the stage 1 upgrade works scheduled to occur in 2026.
