Tropfest happens in Sydney, where bold stories meet big audiences – a globally recognised launchpad for emerging filmmakers. Expect an unforgettable night of fresh voices and world-class short films, screened live under the summer sky.

This year’s 16 finalists are competing for a $100,000 prize pool thanks to the CommBank Emerging Filmmakers Fund: 1st Prize: $50,000 2nd Prize: $30,000 3rd Prize: $20,000

The winners will be decided live on the night in Sydney by an esteemed judging panel led by Margot Robbie, as Jury President.

This is a free community event to watch as it unfolds live in Sydney – bring a rug, pack a picnic and settle in for a memorable evening of outdoor cinema.
