Pool Attendants

Pool Attendants at the Unley Swimming Centre play a key role in supporting a safe, welcoming, and enjoyable environment for all patrons. This position involves actively supervising aquatic areas, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of patrons, and responding appropriately to incidents, including the administration of first aid when required.

Pool Attendants are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of pool surrounds and public areas, while adhering to established supervision zones, safety standards, and operational procedures at all times. A strong focus on vigilance, teamwork, and clear communication is essential.

The role operates within a community‑focused environment where professionalism, high‑quality customer service, and adherence to safety, organisational, and legislative requirements are a priority.

Pool Attendant roles at the Unley Swimming Centre require the following qualifications and checks to be held or obtained:

Essential:

  • Current Pool Lifeguard Award Certification
  • Current Apply First Aid Certification
  • Current Department of Human Services (DHS) Working With Children Check
  • Current Reporting Harm, Abuse and Neglect Certification

Desirable:

  • Ability to work across multiple areas at the centre
  • Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety Certification
  • Group Fitness Certification (e.g. Aquarobics, Yoga, Personal Training)

Recruitment and Expression of Interest

Applying for Current Vacancies

Applications for advertised vacancies are submitted online via the City of Unley Careers page.

To apply, applicants should select the relevant position and complete the online application process, ensuring all required sections are completed and that a current resume and cover letter are attached.

All applications must be submitted through the Careers page to be considered for current vacancies.

 

Expression of Interest

If there are no current vacancies available, individuals are encouraged to register their interest by submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) which can be submitted online via the City of Unley Careers page.

An EOI allows the Unley Swimming Centre to identify potential candidates and make contact should suitable opportunities arise as part of a future recruitment process.

Submission of an Expression of Interest does not guarantee progression to formal recruitment.
