The 50m eight lane pool is heated to a pleasant 26.5 degrees through out the entire season.

We endeavour to provide as much lane space for both the lap swimmers and recreational swimmers but please be advised that on occasions lane space can be restricted due to major bookings and carnivals.

The Unley Swimming Centre offers two smaller pools for the little ones. The junior pool with a minimum depth of 0.7m and a maximum depth of 0.85m is the home of the Unley Swim School and also a great location for birthday parties.

The smaller toddler's pool with a minimum depth of 0.6m and maximum depth of 0.75m is a great spot for the really little ones.

Both pools are fully shaded and have numerous seating options along with a shaded grass area next to the toddler pool.

The Unley Swimming Centre is a great place for sporting clubs, social clubs, schools and training organisations.

Change room facilities at the Unley Swimming Centre are modern and well maintained. All members of the public are catered for with large male and female change rooms as well as two individual family rooms fitted with wall mounted change tables and one disabled change room.

All change rooms contain gas heated showers with water saving timers installed.

Lockers are available for hire from the kiosk allowing you to store your valuables safely while you enjoy the water.

Lockers can be hired on a casual basis. A wallet sized locker costs $1 or $2 for a full sized compartment.

The Unley Swimming Centre disabled lifter enables patrons with mobility issues to easily and safely enter both the main pool, junior and toddler pools.

Both the male and female change rooms are equipped with disabled access toilet facilities, which along with our separate disabled change room allows all users the opportunity to enjoy the Unley Swimming Centre.

The Unley Swimming Centre has qualified instructors who conduct swimming lessons for all abilities aged six-months through to adult.

• Babies and Toddlers: six months - three and a half years
• Swim School: three years - teenage
• Adult Beginner & Stroke Correction: teenage and upwards.

New students
All new students wishing to enrol into a swim school class need to be assessed so they are placed appropriately. A number of assessment dates are held in the school holidays before each block. These are free of charge and operate on a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Bookings are not required.

Students need to be ready for the water and are welcome to stay and enjoy the Centre after their assessment.

Students enrolling in the Babies and Toddlers or the Adult program can do so via phone 8372 5456 or email poolevents@unley.sa.gov.au. An assessment is not required.

• Payment is due at the completion of the student’s first lesson. Late payment will incur a $10 admin fee
• Staff will pro rata block fees for any dates made known at time of payment
• Students paying casually must notify their absence from lessons to avoid losing their place

The Unley Swimming Centre offers private tuition to people of any age and ability.

Whatever your swimming goals or fears, we can pair you up with an instructor who will provide a learning environment specific to your needs. We can assist students who are nervous first timers in becoming confident, safe swimmers or provide structure and focus to those students who are more fearless and energetic to improve technique.

We specialise in one-on-one lessons that provide intensive instruction for people of any age, who are looking to learn to swim or improve their stroke. Lessons are designed to cater for individuals and are adapted to suit each participant.

Program commences Monday 17 September 2018 and concludes Sunday 26 May 2019.

The Unley Swimming Centre offers a range of in water exercise classes for all ages.

Exercising in water is a great, low impact way to boost your fitness and strength while improving your endurance and flexibility.

Program commences Saturday 15 September 2018 and concludes Saturday 25 May 2019. (During May only Saturday Classes will be offered).

Cardio (45 mins)
Suitable for people wishing to improve their cardio fitness by bringing heart rate up for a sustained period of time.

Toning (45 mins)
Suitable for people who want to work on their fitness and tone up those muscles. These classes use aqua equipment and the resistance of the water to tone muscles.

Interval (45mins)
Suitable for people looking for a higher intensity class. These classes use short intervals of high and low intensity exercise interspersed with rest and relief periods to raise and lower the heart rate.

The Unley Swimming Centre offers Yoga classes for all ages and abilities in a revitalising and inspiring environment.

Yoga is an art that has been practiced for centuries. Hatha yoga has many health benefits including flexibility, stamina, strength, weight loss and relaxation.

Classes are conducted on the lawn under the shade. In extreme weather conditions classes are hosted indoors.

Program commences Wednesday 24 October 2018 and concludes Wednesday 17 April 2019.

• Some party dates may not be available subject to other major centre bookings
• Parties are not available on public holidays
• Children under the age of 5 years are not able to be part of the party due to the facilities support of the Watch Around Water policy.
