Unley Toy Libraries party hire

The Unley Toy Libraries have a collection of party hire toys that members can book for their child’s birthday or celebration.

  • Party hire toys are a short-term loan over a weekend.
  • Members can borrow up to three party hire toys in addition to the normal borrowing limits.
  • Bookings are essential for party hire toys by calling, emailing or in person.
  • A full family or group membership is required for party hire.
  • Party hire is included in the membership price.
  • Party hire toys must be collected and returned to Goodwood Toy library only.
  • Adult supervision is required when party hire toys are in use.

 

All residents of South Australia can join the Unley Toy Libraries. Simply bring some identification with your name, address, signature and photograph. You will receive a specific Unley Toy Libraries membership card. Membership is valid at Unley and Goodwood Toy Libraries only. 

Borrowing

  • Party hire toys are available for a short term loan.
  • Bookings are essential for party hire toys. Please speak to staff, email toys@unley.sa.gov.au orphone 8372 5174.
  • Three party hire toys can be borrowed in addition to the normal borrowing limits.

  • A full family or group membership is required for Party Hire.
  • Party hire toys can be collected from Goodwood Toy Library during opening hours on Thursdays,11am - 1pm, or Saturdays, 10am - 12noon. Alternative pick up can be arranged.
  • Before playing with toys, please check all the pieces and report any damaged or missing parts toa staff member.
  • A trolley is available to assist moving toys from the toy library to vehicles.
  • Adult supervision is required when party hire toys are in use.

     

Returning

  • All party hire items are to be returned to the Goodwood Toy Library.
  • When returning items, please:
  • Party hire toys must be returned to the Goodwood Toy Library on the Monday following the booking. Due to future bookings late returns must be negotiated by prior arrangement.
  • All toys must be returned cleaned and ready for the next booking. Use a warm soapy cloth, disinfectant wipe, or brush to ensure toys are rid of spiders, insects, grass and dirt. Cleaning supplies are available in the toy library. A cleaning fee applies if staff need to clean toys.
  • Ensure toys are in the same packaging in which they were borrowed and contain all the pieces.
  • Advise a staff member if pieces have been damaged or are missing so that payment or replacement may be negotiated.
  • A trolley is available to assist moving toys from vehicles into the toy library.

Sensory Party Packs

Sensory Party Packs are designed to offer some alternative options for your party that focus on sensory development. Suitable for children with developmental delay or disability.

There are three packs available - Sensory Trays, Get Active, and Calm Zone.

These party packs have been funded by Department of Social Services via a Toy Libraries Australia grant.

Add your own sensory base- suggestions include, rice, water, dry or cooked pasta, jelly, or ice.

Borrow some animals or playsets from the Toy Library general collection to add to the trays.
