We are thrilled to announce that the Santos Tour Down Under is returning to the City of Unley.

The City of Unley will host the race start for Stage 5 on Sunday, 22 January 2023, where riders will gather on King William Road and race toward the Adelaide Hills, facing new challenges at the Mount Lofty finish.

Expect a frenzied push to the finish. The peloton will leave from Unley and head for the Adelaide Hills, completing four passes of a 25-kilometre loop around Crafers and ascending Mount Lofty for the first time in Santos Tour Down Under history.

Santos Tour Down Under Race Director Stuart O’Grady OAM says, “The final stage of the Santos Tour Down Under 2023 men’s race is designed to shake things up. Riders will gather in Unley for the 20th time in event history – a remarkable milestone – and prepare for a big day of racing. Stakes are high and the atmosphere around the start line is sure to be festive. The world’s best cyclists are heading back to South Australia.”

The race routes will test elite international riders as they compete in South Australia for the first time since 2020.

“The 2023 race routes have been designed to test our cyclists like never before whilst taking fans to the heart of the action,” Mr O’Grady said.

After a two-year hiatus, we look forward to welcoming this prestigious race back to the City of Unley.

The Santos Tour Down Under is taking place in Adelaide and regional South Australia from 13-22 January 2023. It will feature nine days of elite racing for men and women.
