Elderflowering: Living creatively, purposefully and trying for truth

A Courage and Renewal Day

Elderflowering: Living Creatively, purposefully and trying for truth as we age

This day will focus on learning from change, navigating life's transitions, and identifying future possibilities.

  • Identify stepping stones on your journey to this stage of life.
  • Explore the threads of continuity in your life story.
  • Consider your possible growth edges.
  • Explore transformative practices that renew heart, mind and spirit for continued growth.

The Circle of Trust approach, developed by Parker J Palmer and the Center for Courage and Renewal create safe and nurturing spaces which offer time to explore and to reflect on important questions about your life and work. Courage work makes use of images, poetry, music to inspire insight and quiet times of reflection and small group sharing.

"What are you living for?

  • what is your understanding or where you are in your life?
  • what are your fears or worries for the future?
  • what are your goals and priorities?
  • what outcomes are acceptable to you?
  • what are you willing to sacrifice and not?
  • what would a good day look like?"

From 'Being Mortal' by Atul Gawande

"One cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life's morning, for what was great in the morning will be of little importance in the evening, and what in the morning was true will at evening have become no longer true" - Carl Gustav Jung
