Kids events & programs

Reading to your child from birth is one of the best ways to kick start their early literacy journey. Sharing stories benefits your child’s language development, social development and encourages a secure bond between parent and child.

Our programs incorporate songs, rhymes, movement, and storytelling. We have great fun and as a bonus we are helping to activate the brains and bodies of your children. As your little ones approach school age, our programs also help to prepare them with the basic skills needed for a smooth transition to classroom learning.

We’re also here to support parents with up-to-date resources on child development and parenting styles.

School holiday program

We offer a school holiday program for children and teens every school holidays. The City of Unley's citywide program is released approximately three weeks before the holidays and contains details of the Libraries offerings.

We also offer craft resources for Storytimes (and anytime) over on our Crafts page. All our online early literacy programs can be found on our YouTube channel and we are creating more, so don't forget to subscribe over there so you don't miss the next one.
