With easing of COVID-related restrictions, the Clarence Park Community Centre is now available for both regular and casual external hire again. One-off hires can occur, and standard fees and charges apply, but there are venue hire conditions in place to ensure COVID compliance. Please contact the individual Centre to discuss your requirements and suitability.  Clarence Park Community Centre is suitable as a venue for community groups and private functions and has a number of areas available.  Total capacity depends on individual room capacity limits. Inspections are welcome. Facilities include:

  • A main hall with stage, sound system and kitchen
  • Two larger meeting rooms with conference facilities 
  • One smaller meeting room

Under the current COVID-restricted rules, Community Centre hirers must:

  • have a COVID Safe Plan for their specific gathering and or event, adhere to it and sign COVID Conditions of Use for hire of a Community Centre
  • take attendance records of everyone at their event and make these available if required
  • not exceed room capacity limits
  • undertake additional cleaning on arrival and before departure.

Hirers who are conducting prescribed operations as defined under The Emergency Management (Public Activities No. 8 - COVID-19) Direction 2020 must ensure that the prescribed operations are supervised by a COVID Marshal.  A list of prescribed activities can be found at

School Holiday Programs

We provide a range of recreational workshops for children aged 5-12 years during the April, July and October school holidays.

Program brochures are released prior to each holiday break and will be available from this webpage or for collection from the Centre.

Playgroup | Mondays

School terms, 10am - 12noon
Held in our Childcare area with a Playgroup leader, this is a chance for caregivers and children to have fun together and to meet other from the local community. Well-equipped play area with excellent resources, including a garden playground. New families always welcome.
Cost: $5 per family per session plus Playgroup SA membership.

Free Tax Help | Mondays July to October

One-on-one help sessions are available Monday mornings, until the end of October 2020 for people on incomes of $60,000 or less.

Bookings are essential. Please call the Centre on 8293 8166 to check if you are eligible and to make an appointment. 

Tax Help community volunteers are trained and accredited by the ATO and provide a free and confidential service.

The Shed (workshop) | Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays

9am - 12noon
Share your talent, learn new skills or revisit and hone your old skills. Make friends in this safe and friendly environment. Perfect for the over 50s (men and women) who would like to contribute to this much needed service. 

Using new and recycled timbers, come and make new items, up-cycle old items, create brand new wooden toys or repair well loved ones. This Shed is well utilised by early childhood organisations such as kindergartens or childcare centres to repair or create new toys for their children. 
Morning tea included. Join this community workshop and new members are always welcome. (Member of The Men’s Shed Association).

The Shed Shop Sales | Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays

9am - 12noon
All items are hand crafted by participants of the Clarence Park Community Centre Shed. The makers work from a community workshop where they sell original and refurbished wooden items and toys.
All of the items are lovingly and intricately made using recycled timber.
All profits made go towards the ongoing running of the Shed program.

In partnership with the Council of the Ageing (COTA), Strength for Life (SFL) promotes health and wellbeing in the over 50s through progressive strength training.  It improves balance, increases muscle strength and reduces the risk of falls. SFL improves the condition in people who are affected by diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoporosis.
Participants receive a tailored exercise program designed to improve and increase muscle strength and endurance and improve balance and cardio. SFL is one of South Australia’s most successful preventative health programs for the over 50s.
Cost: One off personal assessment fee of $30 then $7 per session/class.

Kindermusik by Mini Music Makers | Mondays – Thursdays

Various session times
Sing, dance, move, play and learn. Early music education and fun for newborns to 7-year olds.

Fostering language, listening, problem solving skills and creativity. Small friendly classes.
Cost: $18 per class or $140 per 9 week term.

Occasional Childcare | Tuesday – Friday

8.30am - 1pm
Are you looking for childcare that is occasional or regular but not full time? Our session childcare is for children from two years to five years of age. In a community setting, our licensed childcare and large garden are purpose built. Children bring along fruit for a shared morning tea and their own lunch. Visits welcome. Bookings essential.

Crafternoons | Wednesdays

1 - 3pm
Have you been bitten by the craft bug? Come for a chat, a laugh and share ideas, experiences and learn new skills while you work on your individual craft project. Enjoy the companionship in a creative environment. It’s fun and informal. New members are always welcome.

Moving Madness | Wednesdays

School Terms 9.30 - 11am
Come along and have fun with your child. Share their discovery of new skills and experiences in this exciting preschool program. Develop your child’s physical and social skills with music and movement activities and challenging gym equipment.
Cost: $12 casual or $70 per term/1 child or $90 per term/2 children.

Clarence Park Food Co-op | Saturdays & School Terms Mondays – Wednesdays

10.30am - 12.30pm

Volunteers run the food co-operative. For a low cost, the Co-op sells nuts, dried fruit, grains, legumes, seeds, honey and more. Preference given to organically grown produce.
Cost: $1 for life membership.
