We're seeking feedback on our Draft 2025–26 Annual Business Plan and Budget, including the Draft Rating Policy and Long-Term Financial Plan.

These plans guide how your money is spent, both now and into the future. We want to know: have we got it right? Is anything missing? What do you think of the proposed rate increase? Which services and projects matter most to you?

What we're proposing

Our Draft Budget aligns with the Community Plan: Towards 2050 and our Draft 4-Year Delivery Plan (25/26–28/29). It balances long-term community goals with financial sustainability.

Key proposals include:

  • A 3.5% average rate increase
  • An additional 0.5% from new or improved properties

Rating short-stay accommodation

The City of Unley is looking at changing how we classify short-stay rentals for council rates, and we want to hear from the community before making any decisions. We are proposing to change the way short-stay rentals (like Airbnbs) are rated. This change aims to create a fairer system and encourage long-term rentals.

Draft Rating Policy

Council has developed a Draft Rating Policy that is consistent with its existing rating practices. The policy defines Council’s approach towards rating its community in line with the requirements of Chapter 10 of the Local Government Act 1999 and the Council’s Annual Business Plan and Budget. We'd like to hear your comments on the Draft Rating Policy.

2025-2035 Long-Term Financial Plan

The Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA) has reviewed Council’s Long-Term Financial Plan and found the City of Unley’s current and projected financial performance to be sustainable. We'd like to hear your feedback on the Long-Term Financial Plan.
