Inspired by ideas generated from learnings from some of the more progressive cycling cities around the world such as Copenhagen, Denmark and Portland, Oregon, Unley's City Design team, in partnership with Spark Furniture, create a bicycle leaning rail to form part of the George and Young Streets intersection improvement project.
The goal is to better support riders as they wait at this intersection for a safe opportunity to cross. The bicycle leaning rail is aimed to make the wait for traffic a little bit more comfortable with provision of a foot platform and arm-rest.
As bicycle leaning rail is new, Council welcomes any feedback from the cycling community on this improvement to see if it helps with safety on their commute.
