The City of Unley, in partnership with the Office for Recreation, Sport, and Racing (ORSR), is thrilled to announce an extension of the operating season at the Unley Swimming Centre. This move aims to accommodate swimmers affected by the re-construction of the Adelaide Aquatic Centre (AAC).
With an impressive 36-week season stretching from mid-September to the end of May, the Unley Swimming Centre already boasts the longest swim season in the state. This year, the Centre is making history by remaining open through the Winter months for the first time ever.
As the AAC prepares to close its doors on 1 August 2024, the Unley Swimming Centre will step in to fill the gap, opening its season on the same day. Swimmers can enjoy the extended access until the end of May 2026, ensuring continuous availability of facilities during the AAC's construction period.
This extension is particularly advantageous for our dedicated swimmers with twelve-month memberships, offering them uninterrupted access to their favourite swimming spot.
Be bold and embrace the cold! Register with Active World to purchase a 12-month membership and be part of this extended swim season.
