Front Yard Slide Shows

Front Yard Slide Show Fullarton Park

Front Yard Slide Shows is an evolving digital storytelling project that asks people to make a slide show about the history of their house. Since 2022, a growing collection of short films have been made with local residents living in the City of Unley, that reveal untold stories about the past and the present.

Building on the success of the project in 2023 as part of the SA History Festival, OSCA once again brings this community inspired people powered project to life as part of the 2024 History Festival

This time, take a walk around the streets of Unley to find bespoke signboards telling stories of the homes and residents from the past and the not so past. For more information and/ or would like to register for this project, visit Front Yard Slide Shows

If you would like to find out more about your own house, consider registering for an Unley Museum House History.

Thank you to all our supporters and funders OSCA, Government of South Australia, and Toop+Toop.

Front Yard Slide Shows 2023

Over two nights, seven houses across the City of Unley will come to life as their untold histories are projected onto screens in their front yards. Ride, walk or drive the self guided trail of homes and experience this fascinating community inspired event that sees Unley residents creating slideshows of their home’s history.

Created by OSCA – Open Space Contemporary Arts with teams of storytellers and members of the community, each architecturally lit house will reveal untold stories about first settlers, infamous residents, local builders and the evolving life of immigrants and long-term occupants from then till now.
