Unley Libraries, as part of the Public Libraries SA network, now offer a large collection of downloadable eBooks and Audiobooks including classics, new releases, nonfiction and bestsellers for all ages. All titles can be accessed via the library catalogue or the service provider site above.

Kanopy streams thoughtful entertainment to your preferred device with no fees and no commercials. Everyone from film scholars to casual viewers will discover remarkable and enriching films on Kanopy. Create a Kanopy account and log in with your library membership to enjoy a diverse catalogue of films. Your Kanopy account gives you:
  • Ten play credits per month (ten films) - credits reset on the 1st of the month
  • Three days to finish watching a film
  • Access to Kanopy Kids - unlimited plays of movies and shows for children (to join Kanopy you must be over 13 years of age).

Getting started with Kanopy
You will need an active library membership, email address, and internet connection to access this service.

On your Laptop or PC
  • Click on the above link called Movie and Documentaries, which will take you to the Kanopy site
  • Click on Sign Up
  • Enter your details
  • Find the verification email in your account, follow the link provided to verify your email
  • Return to Kanopy and when you are successfully logged in, connect your library membership, click on your name (in the top-right corner), and choose "My Memberships" and "Add a new membership"
  • Enter you library card number and password/PIN

On your mobile device
Download the Kanopy app from your device's app store (available for Android and Apple devices). Follow the prompts to set up an account and find your library by searching 'Unley' and selecting the City of Unley Libraries.

Learning English – Road to IELTS
Road to IELTS is a self-study program to help those wishing to pass the IELTS exam. It provides hours of intensive work on vocabulary, reading, writing, listening and speaking practice. The course includes two modules: General Training and Academic.  

Digital literacy - Go Digi
A national four year digital literacy program with the goal of supporting Australians to improve their digital skills.​ Together Infoxchange and Australia Post are working with communities around Australia, with a focus on the following audiences:
  •     Ageing community members
  •     Regional and remote communities.
  •     CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) communities
  •     Indigenous communities
  •     Small businesses.


Genealogical Data - Ancestry
Ancestry provides access to an extensive range of genealogical resources from the United States and United Kingdom including census, vital, church, court, and immigration records. It also provides limited Australian coverage. To access this database you can visit either the Unley Civic Library or Goodwood Library and book on to use a public computer (this resource is unavailable outside the Libraries public computer network).

Australian eLibrary - Trove
Trove is an online search engine developed by the National Library of Australia which allows you to access a large repository of Australian material. Explore a wealth of resources and digital content including full-text books, journal and newspaper articles, images, music, sound, videos, maps, websites, diaries, letters, archives, people and organisations.

Environmental concerns - GreenFILE
GreenFILE is a bibliographic database of information about environmental concerns. This resource offers a unique perspective on the positive and negative ways humans affect the environment. GreenFILE indexes scholarly and general interest titles, as well as government documents and reports.

South Australian Community Information - SAcommunity
South Australia’s community information resource, enabling you to find out about help available from government, non-government and community services throughout SA and to find out how you can connect with and get involved in your community.

State Library of South Australia
Submit questions to Librarians at the State Library of South Australia. You can lodge questions 24/7 and will receive a response within ten working days. The State Library website also provides several research resources, catalogues and guides on specific topics, especially South Australian.
